Well, here we go...

Writer: LoganLogan

I’ve always enjoyed writing. I always thought that I was pretty good at it. As I sit here and type this up, I wonder if it will even be read by anyone. It seems like no one takes the time to read anymore, they want podcasts or videos of things, not the written word. It’s kind of sad, really.

I LOVED writing when I was in high school. Hell, I even started writing a book when I was in college, but I never finished it. I got too busy with life and school. It happens. You get married, get a job, have kids, and then suddenly you are a 31 year old male talking to strangers on the internet...

So a little over a year ago I started my Instagram. (Nice transition, huh?) I wanted to be one fo those #fitcop guys with a ton of followers and awesome abs and a supplement company deal and swipe ups and blah, blah, blah, blah...

I quickly realized that I was a drop in the bucket with all the other “Fit Cops” out there, each trying to do their own thing. It seemed like the majority of them out there were shirtless and trying to make it look like they weren’t flexing in their gym bathroom mirror selfie. I remember thinking “that’s not me.” Heck, my first post ever was just a video of me talking to the camera about my new page and how I was going on a “fitness journey.” I had no idea what I was doing. In all honesty, I still don’t.

Through changes in algorithms, trending hashtags, and “shadow banning,” I have come to find out that this whole #instafamous thing is a LOT more difficult than it seems. It takes work, a decent amount of effort, and time. But, like all good things, they don’t come easy. There are always challenges, and this whole “Social Media influencer” life is full of them.

I really got this whole idea from my wife’s boss. My wife works for the online fashion blog called Living in Yellow.

It is based in Elkhart County, Indiana and is all about fashion and lifestyle trends. I have learned quite a bit just from watching what they do, and applying it to my platform. Now granted, Erin, the gal who runs the blog, has over half a million followers on her platforms (that’s more than 500,000+) so her reach is a BIT further than mine, but that doesn’t mean I can’t apply what I have learned.

Like I have said about my Instagram before, this costs me no money. it only costs me time. It's a bit of a #sidehustle for me. I love my profession and career as a police officer, and trust me, this blog will feature a TON of police related content (stories, gear reviews, the works) but I think this whole #vlog / #blog thing could be a nice "out" for me.

I like to think that I have had some success so far with my Instagram, and now hopefully this will spark a whole other side of things for me. I finally decided to do this just recently, and I’m not sure why. Maybe its to satisfy my urge to write? (As if I don’t get enough writing in at work as it is…)

So, long story short, thank you for reading this, checking out my page, following my instagram, and supporting me through just being you. I appreciate every single one of my followers, and I hope that you will get as much enjoyment out of this blog as I will.
